The monastery Vidiani located in Lasithi plateau, at the foothills of Louloudaki Mountain, on the way to the northwest exit of the plateau.
The monastery was built in the 19th century by the monk Methodius Peraki, probably on the ruins of an older monastery. The area of the monastery was granted by the family of the Vidon, Venetian family descendants that owned part of the plateau as a fief. In 1867 it was destroyed by the Turks but immediately renovated in the coming years. In the second world war the Germans running abbot because of his resistance actions. The function of the monastery was interrupted in 1968 where he died and the last monk and restoration began in 1991.
The monastery is dedicated to Zoodochos Pigi, which symbolizes the fountain at the entrance of the monastery. Tall cypress trees, various trees and flower beds full of flowers adorning the courtyard of the monastery area. Here operating a small natural history museum with wild animals living in the plateau, an iconography exhibition and a small cafe.
